Nantucket is well known for lobster rolls and great sandy beaches. There are four wonderful bike paths that lead right down to the beach and are a great way to spend an afternoon: The Dionis Beach bike path, the ‘Sconset Beach path, the Surfside Beach path, and the Madaket Beach path. They’re all wonderful, but the ‘Sconset Beach path is a particular favorite. The 18-mile round trip path takes you past cranberry bogs, Sankaty Lighthouse and the Nantucket Life-Saving Museum.

Coastal Bike Path #2 – Angel Island State Park, California
Angel Island is located in the center of the San Francisco Bay. It is a wildlife conservation preserve and no motorized vehicles are allowed on the island. This makes it the perfect place for bike riding, especially during the sunny days of spring, summer and fall. Largely undeveloped, there are a multitude of both paved and unpaved roads across the 470-acre island, which is accessible via ferry from Fisherman’s Wharf. Visit the 1910 United States Immigration Station, which was the processing center for more than one million immigrants in the early 20th century.

Keep an eye out for native wild flowers and deer grazing along the path.
